Apart of Firma hosted two game-changers in the world of industrial design, Carulla & Claret to share with us their personal and professional experiences as part of FirmaTalks.
A sold-out event in a welcoming atmosphere, there were a lot of laughs and also profound insights about the state of design and how we can leverage our creativity for good. We set out to create a space that allows us to experiment with ideas and conversations to drive innovation forward. AndreuCarulla & Claret brought much more, combining a great sense of humor and talent to burn.

Andreu Carulla
With materiality, craftsmanship and sustainability as goals, Andreu Carulla creates beautiful objects with timeless appeal. Following his childhood dream of becoming an inventor, Catalan-born Andreu Carulla founded his eponymous product design studio in 2006, becoming one of the most versatile design firms working in Spain today.
Curro Claret
Born in Barcelona in 1968 where he has lived most of his life.
He studied industrial design at the Elisava School of Superior Design and in Central St. Martins in London ( studies which he wasn't able to finish for reasons but grateful for the experience)
In 1998 he began his freelance work. Since then he has been working in a variety of different projects (small objects, large objects, installations, interior design, events and happenings. . .)

“Upcycling has more to do with the value of the material”, he said. If the value of the material is higher than when it was a product, then it is effectively upcycled.”
